Kidney tests in Raipur
The kidneys filter waste and extra water out of your blood. Chronic kidney disease is a long-term condition where they do not work as well as they should. Early kidney disease usually causes no symptoms, so it is most often found by chance through a blood or urine test.
Diabetes and high blood pressure are common causes, and the risk also rises with a family history, obesity, smoking, age over 50 and long-term use of some painkillers. If any of these apply to you, regular checks matter. Tests such as creatinine, eGFR and urine albumin show how well your kidneys are filtering.

- More likely with high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, kidney infections or stones

- Long-term use of some medicines, including NSAID painkillers and lithium, can affect the kidneys
Common questions
Does early kidney disease cause symptoms?
Usually not, which is why testing matters.
Does a high creatinine always mean kidney disease?
No. Dehydration, hard exercise and a high-meat diet can raise it, so your doctor reads it with other results.
How do I prepare?
You may be asked to avoid meat for 24 hours before a creatinine test. Follow the instruction shown when you book.
When to get help straight away
Passing much less urine than normal, strong thirst, vomiting, swollen feet or legs, confusion or drowsiness, or breathlessness when lying down can signal acute kidney injury. Seek urgent care; call 112 or 108.
